What it is
The Ekka (Royal Queensland Show) is a nine-day show at the Brisbane Showgrounds in Bowen Hills, with animals, rides, showbags and nightly entertainment. In 2026 the fireworks started from 7:50pm each night.
Arriving by car
The main entrance, Gate 1, is at 600 Gregory Terrace, on the corner of Costin Street. In 2026 the show had a rideshare and taxi zone outside Gate 1, and Gregory Terrace was closed between Costin Street and Exhibition Street from late July to 20 August.
Getting home
In 2026 the main gates were open 9am to 9pm, and Sideshow Alley and the food areas ran until late.
Good to knowExpect queues at Gate 1 on peak days and on People's Day, the Brisbane show holiday. Show parking is limited and can be booked out on weekends and the public holiday.
